Homemade Chicken Masala
Ingredients
- 750 g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 tsp Prayosha Meera Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
- 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste (divided)
- ½ tsp Prayosha Meera Turmeric Powder (for marination)
- 1 tsp Prayosha Meera Turmeric Powder (for the curry)
- 1 tsp Prayosha Meera Coriander Powder
- 3 tsp Prayosha Meera Chicken Masala
- 3 tbsp curd
- 4 onions, finely chopped
- 4 tbsp oil
- 3 green chillies, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Lime juice, as required
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped, for garnish
Step by Step Guide
- Marinate 750 g chicken with 1 tsp Prayosha Meera Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, ½ tsp Prayosha Meera Turmeric Powder, 3 tbsp curd, and salt to taste. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Heat 4 tbsp oil in a pan. Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn golden brown.
- Add the 3 chopped green chillies, 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp Prayosha Meera Coriander Powder, 1 tsp Prayosha Meera Turmeric Powder, and 3 tsp Prayosha Meera Chicken Masala. Sauté for 2–3 minutes.
- Add the marinated chicken and mix well so that the chicken is evenly coated with the masala.
- Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low heat for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Squeeze in a little lime juice and mix well.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve the hot Chicken Masala with steamed rice, roti, naan, or paratha.
